On Thursday, Sarah Campbell and I went to see Mrs. Miller, (vkjshdlfky) and I think she's been going to more Jim Beam conferences.  She was wearing butterfly clips, a la fifth grade.  AP Government cometh.

miss the last hooded historians show? (yes, you did. don't even pretend you went.)
the next one-- and the last one for a while-- will be at seven this thursday at cave 9. and the hooded historians go on first, meaning you don't have to stay around and deal with the scene kids if you don't want to.

p.s.
who else got their ap scores back?

so shame on all of you for not going to the show tonight to see the hooded historians.

what's that, working man? child labor? 70 hour work week? you don't need me, working man, you need to call EUGENE V. DEBS!

... and that's why we wrote this dance song about the balkan powderkeg.

they don't have a cd, so if you want to see them, you'll have to do it live. and they usually play last, when the 30 year old punk mosher assholes have gone and all that's left are seventeen year olds in thrift store t-shirts impressing one another with their dancing abilities. it's a city-wide ap dance party.

attn:

friday night at seven the hooded historians (the ones that wrote the song about eugene v. debs and a series regarding bosnia/hertzogovenia) will be performing at cave 9. it's five bucks to get in.
morning edition, closer than this, chinese happy and henry dunkle also performing.

come for the historical verisimilitude, stay for the hXc.

all-day memorial day west wing marathon.
sometimes i see episodes i hadn't seen since the last semester of ap history and realize how much more i enjoy it now that i have the stronger foundation. the president's personal secretary just asked him if he would have chosen to drop the bomb as truman did, and martin sheen talked about okinawa and potsdam. i had a little mental dance party.

and i don't have to deal with the guilt of television now that exams are done. i haven't really watched silly, non-education-related television in months. it doesn't get much more indulgently silly than the west wing:

BARTLET
[speaks while reading the note] There was this time that Annie came to me with this press clipping. Seems these theologians down in South America were very excited because this little girl from Chile had sliced open a tomato, and the inside flesh
of this tomato had actually formed a perfect Rosary. The theologians commented that they thought this was a very impressive girl. Annie commented that she thought it was a very impressive tomato. I don’t know what made me think of that.

and i'm up to like three this american lifes per day.

p.s.
in other ap news, sarah campbell bought her book for $25.

*dancedance*

This is me, being bored while Grandmother and Aunt are visiting and wanting them to leave so I can go to Italy.

*dancedance* *wiggle*

plus, only two people have posted in the AP Dance Partyness. Such neglect is sacrilege! We must not forsake the dancing!

consuming the princeton review's ap study guide makes me feel all warm inside about this year.

favorite history moment:
(some small inconsistency in the book pointed out.)
"dude, do you not remember when it spelled 'and' with a 3?"

hubbard's making euro history shirts that say "i survived european history" and on the back they say "and jacob and violetta."
i think miller should give us shirts that say "i survived enduring vision" and on the back "an3d."

or at least friendship bracelets that say "yeomen farmers."

do you think miller would stab me dead if i wrote..."it was all a myth" on my free-response questions?
i totally think i can get partial credit for it.

i flipped ahead to the ashbury-haight insert with the big janis joplin photo.

"Close behind them came gawking tourists, 'weekend hippies' looking for easy sex and exotic drugs, heroin addicts, and a legion of robbers and rapists." (997b).

i spent far too long looking for sarah campbell's panty-raiding quote. free cool points to anyone who finds it.

reason i love our book #835908235s:
right after the section on tuning in, turning on and dropping out and the sexual revolution: the tet offensive!
